Barbazza Real Estate was started in 2007 by Jason Piazza. Our primary field is tenant representation for commercial real estate leasing in Orange County, California, however we have moved into sales and commercial property management as well. Currently our management portfolio includes one property: a 2 building industrial property in Costa Mesa. For the two years prior to May, 2011, Barbazza Real Estate was also managing a a mixed use, 3 story, registered historic office and retail building in the recently renovated artist village of Santa Ana, but that building was sold in May of 2011 with Barbazza Real Estate acting as the seller’s agent.
Being a relatively new brand to commercial real estate, Barbazza’s goal has been two fold in our first 4 years of existence: create a solid reputation within the industry as an honest company which holds integrity and hardwork as pilars of our success, while steadily building a solid client base of small to mid-size businesses which will serve to build Barbazza Real Estate as our clients’ companies grow. The philosphy came about while Jason Piazza, the founder and Vice President of Barbazza Real Estate, was closing his mortgage office in 2007 and was trying to find a new direction in real estate. During that time, Jason was looking for a company to sublease his 1,080 SF office (which had an ocean view and only cost $1.10/SF FSG!!!). What he quickly realized was that there were an incredible amount of small business owners looking for commercial space under 2,000 SF that couldn’t find proper representation but didn’t have the time or the resources to find the best home for their businesses; so he started recruiting from the ranks of his sublease listing responses and within two months he had a full pipeline and had already closed a couple deals……AND HE LOVED IT!! It was a match made in heaven. Instead of sitting behind a desk all day and dealing with an industry that lacked creativity (mortgage), now he was able to get out of the office and tour clients while helping them envision their future needs. His juices were flowing and his client base started growing rapidly as he learned the ins and outs of commercial real estate.
After 4 years of hardwork building the company’s reputation and client base, Barbazza Real Estate is poised to take the next step. Our current goal is to move into a 2,000 SF office space by the end of the 2nd quarter of 2012, in time for the uptick in commercial leasing which should begin to take shape soon. When will the uptick happen? That’s another conversation, and one which isn’t so easily answered in a few sentences. We believe it has already begun, but feel it will really begin picking up in the 1st quarter of 2012.
